Safety
How do you verify users?
All users go through a verification process including phone number verification and optional ID verification. We also have a rating system where users can review each other after rides.
What safety features does LiftBuddy have?
We offer live ride tracking, emergency SOS button, trusted contacts sharing, in-app chat (no need to share phone numbers), and a comprehensive reporting system.
Rides
How do I find a ride?
Simply enter your pickup and drop-off locations, select your preferred time, and browse available rides. You can also set up recurring ride alerts for your daily commute.
How do I offer a ride?
Post your route, departure time, and number of available seats. Interested riders will send you requests, and you can choose who to accept based on their profile and ratings.
What if I need to cancel a ride?
You can cancel a ride through the app. We encourage cancelling as early as possible to give others time to find alternatives. Frequent last-minute cancellations may affect your rating.
Environmental Impact
How much CO₂ can I save by carpooling?
On average, each shared ride saves approximately 2 kg of CO₂. A daily commuter sharing rides can save over 500 kg of CO₂ per year — equivalent to planting several trees!
How do you calculate environmental impact?
We calculate savings based on the distance travelled, vehicle type, and number of passengers. Your personal impact dashboard shows your cumulative CO₂ savings over time.
